What is Truly Simple
One rule for the investing process I’m staying conscious of is the need for the investment thesis to be simple.
Yes, there is the big asterisk to simplicity per Einstein:
“Everything should be made as simple as possible, but no simpler”
But, silly me, I placed it literally in my head as each investing thesis should fit in a sentence. Then I immediately dug into every checklist item I have and trying to fit the data for 3-6 checklist items in one sentence.
Fascinating how the first reaction is to fit all the ideas into one sentence instead of the other way. To take out everything until you get to one big idea that will fit into that one sentence.
Sometimes, the constraints aren’t there to disobey but to follow with an Occam’s Razor-level of interpretation.
One sentence, one idea.
