Beautiful Blues
The Monday blues.
A sadness accepted and lived.
But I tell you, what if sadness is
not one to be rejected,
but accepted with curiosity.
Sadness isn’t to be denied
to be avoided with distractions.
It isn’t to be removed with remedies,
no happy shows or forced laughter
should be used to deny the fact.
The fact sadness is our self talking to us
it’s asking us to take notice.
It’s asking us to peer inside.
sadness is the last-ditch effort
from our body screaming for attention.
It screams “look, look!”
Look at the carnage within.
Look through the rubble and debris within.
Tell me what you find.
Sadness is that ticket to
a train that should take you
to the depth of your being.
Don’t deny it. Don’t reject it.
Don’t try to cure what shouldn’t be cured,
but explored and discovered.
